Appliance Removal
Appliance Removal in Salt Lake County and Utah County. Refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves, and other large appliances hauled out carefully.
Large appliances are heavy, awkward, and often wedged into tight spaces. Whether your old refrigerator died, you upgraded your washer and dryer, or a rental needs a stove swapped out, we carry the old appliance out and haul it away. Most appliances contain metal and other materials that can be recycled, so we route them toward recycling whenever a local option is available.

What appliance removal looks like
We arrive, look at the appliance and the path out, and confirm the price. Then we move it out using the right equipment, whether it is a chest freezer in the garage or a stacked washer and dryer in a hallway closet. You do not need to wrestle anything onto a dolly or up the basement stairs.
Many people call us after a new appliance is delivered and the store did not take the old one, or when they are finishing a kitchen or laundry room remodel and want everything gone at once.
Getting the appliance ready
For safety, appliances should be disconnected from power, water, and gas before we arrive. Gas lines in particular should be shut off and capped by a qualified person. We do not disconnect gas or hardwired electrical lines.
Empty refrigerators and freezers and let them defrost if you can. Prop doors open to air them out. Run the washer through a drain cycle so it is not full of water. Clear a path from the appliance to the door, and let us know about stairs, tight turns, or narrow doorways in your quote request.
Pricing for appliances
Appliance removal is priced by truck space, item type, and access. Some appliances, especially refrigerators and freezers, need special handling for refrigerants, which can affect cost. We give you an upfront quote before work begins, so you know the price before anything moves. If you have several items, combining them into one visit is usually more efficient than separate pickups.
Timing
When an appliance fails, people usually want it gone quickly. We offer same-day and next-day pickup when the schedule allows, but timing is subject to availability. Tell us about any deadline, such as a delivery date for the replacement, and we will do our best to work around it.
Recycling and responsible handling
Appliances are mostly metal, which makes them good candidates for recycling. Refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners contain refrigerants that must be handled correctly, so we take them to facilities equipped for that when available. Working appliances in good condition may be donated if a local organization is accepting them. Policies vary, so we never promise a specific destination in advance.
Where we offer appliance removal
We provide appliance removal throughout Salt Lake County and Utah County, from Salt Lake City, Millcreek, and West Valley City down through Sandy, Draper, and Herriman, and across the Utah County line into Lehi, American Fork, Orem, Provo, Spanish Fork, and Payson. If you are not sure whether your address is in our area, include your city or ZIP code in the quote form and we will confirm. Jobs farther from the center of the valley are easier to fit in with a little notice, so reach out as early as you can when you have a date in mind.
Why neighbors choose Junk Buddy Utah
We are a local crew, and we try to make every job simple and predictable. You get an upfront quote before we lift anything, so there is no guessing about the bill. Our crew does all the lifting, loading, and carrying, and we sweep up the spot where your items were. We look for donation and recycling options before anything goes to the landfill, and we are honest about what we can and cannot take. If appliance removal is not the right fit for your situation, we will tell you and point you in a better direction.
Appliance Removal FAQ
Do you disconnect appliances?
We do not disconnect gas lines or hardwired electrical. Please have the appliance disconnected before we arrive. Unplugging standard appliances and draining a washer ahead of time is helpful.
Do you take old refrigerators and freezers?
Yes. Please empty them first. They contain refrigerants that need proper handling, which we account for in your quote.
Can you take an appliance from the basement?
Yes. We carry appliances up stairs and out of tight spaces. Mention stairs or narrow turns in your request so we come prepared.
Will my working appliance be donated?
If it is clean, working, and a local organization is accepting that type of appliance, we will try. Acceptance varies, so we cannot guarantee donation.
